Our Process - the Arizona Orphan Abduction
Research & Learning
All of Rising Youth Theatre's projects start in the research phase. For this show, research was particularly important because we were starting from events in the past, and honoring stories of people who aren't still here to share them with us. With that in mind, in 2022 we put together a creative team of youth and adults tasked with learning as much as we could about the events of 1904 and using that learning to draw parallels to the present. Some of the activities we took on during this phase included:
Devising and Pilot Performances
In Fall 2023 we will produce an immersive experience for public audiences, bringing our community deeply into the story of The Arizona Orphan Abduction
Full Production and Tour
In 2024 we will produce a fully immersive experience that will take place in multiple sites in Arizona, We will then adapt this project to be toured to various sites, including schools
